 Thanksgiving Feast
 by Dennis Sentenac
Wow! What a festival of ice sculpture! On Thanksgiving Day just past, we visited the Gaylord Texas Resort in Grapevine, just outside Dallas, and took in the works of amazing ice-sculptors. We got as many good images as our fingers and near-frozen camera could stand. The ambient temperature after all was but nine degrees! By the way, the resort has a Thanksgiving Day reservations-only, sit-down dinner buffet that literally fills a ballroom. And please don’t let the word “buffet” put you off. The foods and desserts are as varied, wonderful and elegant as the service is friendly, competent and attentive. If you are simply fed up with cooking your own turkey, this may be your excuse to quit.
[EdNote: We loved this day and ice scuplture show so much we reprise it in anticipation of Thanksgiving 2009. We all do have so much to be thankful for.]
