Red Hat Society - Scene at Beau Rivage, Biloxi, Mississippi by Dennis Sentenac
Which of course meant that I had to ask why the red hats, and the purple dresses? It is the “Red Hat Society” which a woman can join only after she is fifty. There were 350 of them, all laughing, smiling and having a great time. That’s what life is all about, they said. They certainly appeared to be living their creed!
