Sell Yourself and Reap the Profits

If you can’t sell yourself, what can you sell? Life is one big showroom, and we’re each a product on the shelf. Who’s going to pick a box unless it stands out, screams color, confidence and style?! But don’t kid yourself, the specs count, too.

It’s like the gigs on a computer drive, or the proof count on a bottle of liquor – it’s all about answering the question: what do you have to offer?

Essentially, all the key moments in life are sales pitches. First date, job interview, college application … everyone you face has to buy what you’re selling.

So really, shouldn’t Sales 101 be a standard course for school-age children? How to Pitch Yourself, Convincing Clients to Buy Your Stock, How to Polish Your Self-Image …

Sadly, some are less than skilled at showing the world what makes them special. Maybe their parents weren’t as supportive as they should have been or humility was valued over pride. Either way, they didn’t learn the crucial techniques.

Success may be relative, but regardless what path you choose in life, knowing how to sell yourself and your special qualities is a skill no one can afford to be without.

Everyone should have an internal inventory of their unique skills and talents. Know what makes you great, and tell the world about it! Confidence is key. No matter what your career or individual goals, we’re all salesmen in the end.
