 I Dream of Springfield

Did you ever wish you could be a cartoon character?
They never age, they never die, and aside from the occasional graphic novel -- their lives are endless comedy
As anyone who knows me can attest, I'm a Simpsons fanatic.
And I'm obviously not the only one, as is obvious by the fact that the FOX franchise about an average family in a small town called Springfield has remained enormously successful for twenty years.
Whenever I watch the antics of Homer, the patriarch of the fictional family, I can't help but be overcome by envy.
Oh to be Homer J. Simpson, in all his fat glory ... lover of beer and donuts, slacker extraordinaire.
Homer has been into space, he's been a rock star, he's hob knobbed (or fought) with at least three different presidents, he's traveled the world, he's gone back in time ... and all without aging a day.
How can you not envy the guy? Even through hardship and struggle, he always seems to come out on top.
He's got a family, an easy job and all the beer he can drink. He's got eternal youth and endless opportunity ... not bad for a fictional fat guy.
So what if he's yellow, bald and two dimensional ... for all the perks he cashes in on, I think it's worth it.
I salute you, Homer J.
